Ceremony Only Attendance
The commissioning ceremony is an official U. S. Navy event for which there is no admission fee. Admission is, however, by invitation only for security reasons and due to limited seating. Invitation lists will be submitted by crew members, U. S. Navy organizations involved in the ship’s construction and the Omaha, Nebraska Council of the Navy League.
If you are a guest of a crewmember on USS OMAHA, DO NOT request tickets thru this website. Please contact your crewmember for tickets to ensure you are seated in the appropriate seating section.

Commissioning Week Events
The Omaha, Nebraska Council of the Navy League has accepted the responsibility of sponsoring the events that accompany the commissioning ceremony. These are memorable events not only for the community, but especially for the attendees, members of the USS OMAHA’s crew and their families, and we are requesting your assistance in this effort. Your contribution will enable us to conduct these celebratory events that honor the ship, her crew and reflect pride in USS OMAHA's namesake city. By participating in the commissioning week, you can be involved in the various events surrounding the actual commissioning ceremony including a number of receptions, personal interactions with crewmembers, and opportunities to meet other dignitaries that will be present for the commissioning. In addition, individuals and businesses which participate in the commissioning week are designated as honorary plankowners and also presented with various commemorative gifts representative of the ship and the commissioning.
The events supporting the commissioning week are not paid for by the U. S. Government but are privately funded by your donations which are managed by the Omaha, Nebraska Council of the Navy League, a non-profit organization. Some contributions may be tax deductible. The beneficiaries of these funds will be the ship, her crew and their families. With your help, we will provide an unforgettable experience for you, our community and the Sailors of the USS OMAHA. All individuals or businesses that participate and contribute to the commissioning week events will be individually contacted by the commissioning committee for ticket requests. There is no need to email a separate request for tickets.
If you would like to contribute to the Commissioning, the following packages are available:
- $500 Donation. Receive honorary plankowner plaque and coin. Tickets to ceremony provided.
- $2500 Donation. Receive honorary plankowner plaque, coin, tickets to Friday evening Chairman's reception, tickets to VIP Breakfast with transportation to/from the ceremony from breakfast location. Tickets to ceremony provided.
